Overview

We noticed how many people cannot quite smile freely, how often a hand goes up to hide it. Yet a smile is the key to the confidence that starts warm relationships; it opens doors in working life as much as in private life. At Impladent we do this work with passion, pleasure and sincerity, for a new smile whose effects last a lifetime.

What is smile design?

A tooth is at its most perfect the moment it comes through. Over time it meets acid and trauma; it wears, the enamel crazes, decay and staining appear, and it loses its gloss and its integrity. That change is a form of ageing and cannot be prevented. You cannot turn it back — but with this treatment protocol you can stop it. The integrity, gloss, colour and aesthetics of those early days return, and a preventive approach heads off what the process would otherwise do.

How is a smile designed?

We start with video and photographs in a relaxed setting, and get to know you through a personality analysis so the design belongs to you. Your photographs and videos go into an aesthetic software package, where we use the measurements of your face and the golden ratio to establish the tooth proportions that suit you best. The character the analysis reveals is then worked into those mathematically calculated teeth.

At the stage we call the Mocap, you see how your teeth will look at the end of treatment before any work is done on them. We then complete the work on your new smile in as little as a week — and we give you the first moments of that new smile as a short video, a keepsake of your time at the clinic.

What treatments can be involved?

Depending on what is needed, the plan may include gum contouring (pink aesthetics), whitening, lip aesthetics, orthodontic treatment, veneers, porcelain or zirconium crowns, bonding and implant treatment.
